Message from HA Chairman Matthew Whitty

Dear Parents & Guardians

I would like to thank you for all your patience over the past few months whilst Park Road Pools have been closed for refurbishment. We have been informed by Fusion, the service providers at Park Road, that the main pool is now due to reopen by Easter 2015 due to a project delay. Fusion has apologised for the inconvenience caused to Haringey Aquatics and its members for this delay- a situation which is equally frustrating for the HA Executive Committee as it is for our members.

As we enter the week by week countdown of Park Road’s re-opening we should all be getting excited about using the fantastic refurbished facilities available at Park Road. For photos and more information on Park Road’s new facilities click here. Also, I am delighted to announce that Haringey Aquatics is hoping to significantly expand training opportunities to our members with the launch of land training and early morning sessions for selected squads, more details will be available very soon.

Finally, I would like to extend my congratulations to our coaching team, parents and swimmers for making the past six months so successful during HA’ temporary relocation to Tottenham. Our Learn to Swim programme for children and adults has thrived at Northumberland Park under the brilliant direction of Sharon Austin, our Head of Teaching and we have seen some remarkable results at the County Championships. Full press coverage of this can be found here

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you need to discuss any of these issues further.

With warmest regards

Matthew Whitty
