In 2015 Haringey Aquatics athletes volunteered -as kit carriers and medal bearers -at the British Swimming Championships at the London Aquatics Centre (LAC). Not only did they witness Adam Peaty set a new World Record for 100m breast but Sushila and Nicola were the medal bearers for the 100m breast medal ceremony!
Now the Haringey Aquatics athletes are off to the LAC again to volunteer at the 2016 LEN European Aquatics Championships where they will be working as a team supporting elite swimmers. The 26 swimmers who make up the British team for Rio Olympics 2016 will be competing Rio 2016 British swim team – so the HA volunteers will definitely see some world class swimming and may well witness more records set on the road to Rio. Tickets for the LEN European Aquatics Championships are still available Tickets
The seventeen Haringey Aquatic athletes will be volunteering at a total of five, 3-hour sessions across the competition and will all attend a training session to prepare them for their duties. Whilst some of them did volunteer last year, for others it will be their first experience of volunteering at a elite Aquatic event.
The final list of HA athletes volunteering are:
Evelyn Carter – Team Leader
Aimee Watkinson – Team Leader
Morwenna Taylor – Team Leader

Kelton Ryland – reserve
Haringey Aquatics would like thank our athletes for stepping up to the challenge and wish them all the best. We would also like to extend our thanks to the schools who have allowed their pupils to volunteer on the opening morning of the Championships.
This also includes the minimum criteria expected and the kit swimmers should have with them.
