On the evening of the 14 October 2015, Haringey Aquatics’s Jack Petchey Achievement Award winners put their swim kit to one side and headed for the celebration event in Camden where they were treated to live music from previous winners and a motivational talk by paralympic athlete Danny Crates. Our worthy winners -swimmers Max and Sasha, water polo player Euan and coach Nathan who won a Leader’s Award can been seen here with Danny Crates.
This is the first year the Haringey Aquatics has been part of the scheme which celebrates the achievements of young people and each award is worth £200 to benefit the club. The winners chose to spend theirs as follows: Joe and Sasha combined their awards to purchase boxing equipment, power ropes and resistance workout tubes; and Max used his to buy suspension trainers, trigger point massage balls and skipping ropes. Euan was able to give a boost to our water polo players by buying both mini polo and competition / training balls, as well as a specialist bag to store them in.
All the winners were nominated by Haringey Aquatic members and we look forward to receiving plenty of nominations next year.
